My dad and I bought an '82 Lowe. 28' with an 80 Merc. We took it all the
way down to the pontoons, redecked it and built a full back deck around
and over the motor. Plus we had room to put in a porta-potty and
enclose it with a 3' x 3' privacy curtain we bought from J.C.
Whitney. An 18 gallon tank on one side and 2 6's tied together on
the other makes long trips possible. We've had several other boat here
on Lake Guntersville but nothing has approached the fun of the last
couple weeks since we've got this lady in the water.
I mention these things to give you some ideas.
Go with as long a boat as you can locate. You'll find something to take
up the space . I would trade stability and walking around room for
speed any day.
