Hi Frank,
FV> I'm using the 11/94 version of WordPerfect 6.1 for Windows, the
FV>Novell version.
FV> I'm thinking about upgrading to Corel WordPerfect 6.1 (still using
FV>windows 3.11). Has anyone got it? How is it?
I have two computers and one is using Novell WordPerfect 6.1 while the
other is using Corel WordPerfect 6.1.
From a personal viewpoint I prefer the Novell version purely because I
found it very stable and reliable whereas the Corel version has some
known bugs eg An annoying error message "Not enough memory to perform
the requested operation" whenever I try to merge a document. According
to WordPerfect support it is harmless just annoying. Other things are
also minor such as wrong or missing help files and problems with some
tutorials. I had none of these problems with the Novell version.
WordPerfect support suggest the Corel version is very stable and a
little more advanced than the novell version but wouldn't msay in what
areas.
All in all I suggest you keep your money in your pocket and if you get
the hardware then go with Corel 7.1 when it comes out.
FV> If it's not better than the Novell version, I might just hold off.
FV>There are a few bugs in the Novell version.
Good idea. What sort of bugs.
FV> Thanks ahead of time.
No problem.
Cheers
Mike
