I've known sysops who did,  but that never made a whole lot of sense to me,
 to pack up messages into bundles that get unpacked somewhere else on the
same machine...

I rather like the idea of an editor that goes right into the same message
bases that the bbs uses.

Multimail seems to be very well supported.  And the author hangs out in the
LINUX echo,  among other places.

I have made hardly any progress on computer stuff here,  but at least am
making some slight progress on vehicular matters.

The hardest part of that is picking the right config lines to support what
hardware you have.

I have an 8.1 cd here but haven't thought much about doing the upgrade just yet.

I'm *real* lazy about editors,  am awfully familiar with good old WordStar,
Qedit,  and similar stuff,  and under linux tend to use the one that mc
gives you.  Maybe one of these days I'll have a go at learning one or more
of the other ones that are on there.
