True . ... and I'm probably one of the culprits.

Probably. The two are inherently linked together in practical use
anyway.
Midi is the means by which we tie various bits of kit together.
However, in the finish, the noises produced have to be transferred
to a form which is accessible to the average man-in-the-street, else
we have been wasting our time and efforts.

You're the boss.
M> Do we keep the echo restricted to MIDI ONLY
I would say no. Obviously, if things got to the point where we were
talking about (say) the restoration of archive material or something
of that nature, we would have moved well away from midi. But where
artists are merely trying to get their midi stuff into a final
format, it's perfectly acceptable.

I can't think of a coherent argument why it should be banned. On
that basis, the answer has to be yes.
On a broader front, I think we all know how close this echo came to
dying completely. IMV, *any* discussions that vaguely relate to the
tag should be acceptable. I would rather see the echo with only 10%
directly midi related than not have it at all.
If the echo was crammed with midi only stuff, then there would be a
valid argument for taking the other subjects elsewhere. But it's
not and I think they should stay unless that happens.
Keep 'em comin'
