It's hard to say without the log output. The -md will cause your binkd to
require a CRAM-MD5 handshake. Is that a new link connecting? If so I would
remove the -md and let that node keep trying until they connect securely.

Binkd will use CRAM-MD5 if the remote link supports it without -md in the node
line.
