FR> I didn't like the PBS Mystery! series because I just can't see Jacoby
FR> as Brother Cadfael. He's a great actor, loved him in I CLAUDIUS many
FR> years ago and in other works, but he isn't convincing as a
 FR> rough-and-tough mercenary from the 12th century.
We just received the new series of Cadfael videos at the store, along
with leather Cadfael bookmarks to give away with the purchase of a
video.
RW> Just finished 'The Harry Chronicles' by Allan Pedrazas. This is
RW> Pedrazas' first book, and it's pretty good for a first effort. It's set
RW> in South Florida, which is one of my favorite locales to read about in
RW> mysteries. Perhaps this will be the start of another series.
I read that when it first came out and enoyed it. I thought for some
reason that it was definitely going to be a series. Seems like there is
another one on the way (maybe I saw it in a catalog?).
RW> Currently reading 'Death of an Irish Sea Wolf' by Bartholomew Gill.
RW> It's one of his Peter McGarr series, set in Ireland, and steeped in
RW> local lore & history. I generally enjoy Gill's books and this one the
RW> best I've read so far. It's kind of a police procedural so you might
 RW> like it.
I looked at that one, but the person who read the ARC said it was very
violent so I passed on it. I'm not a big police procedural fan anyways.
