First of all, this message encourages me to buy 'I Robot'. Thanks.
Secondly. IMHO, APP is VERY prog, albeit perhaps not very rock. 'Tales...' is
a concept album, has classical music AND a classical structured song. The
instrumentals have titles which appear in the lyrics, and the lyrics are
really litterary. Then there's the vocoder on 'The Raven', and the voice of
Orson Welles. Conclusion: definately prog.
Then, there's 'Turn of a friendly card', which also has a classical song. I
think Andrew Powell does a very good job on all the project albums, and most
of the time, classical music in modern music leads to progrock.
The concept of the group is also very prog. Free-lance singers are NOT
common, and therefore progressive. And since APP started in the 70's, some
people could agree that we can call it -P-rogressive.
Met vriendelijke groeten,
Steven
