->  I installed my (SCSI) Yamaha CDRW with an AMD
-> 200MHz and it worked just fine. I now run an
-> AMD 350MHz clocked to 375MHz. No problems.

 No supprise there. SCSI is a Smart Controller system and uses almost NO
CPU power. UNLIKE the IDE system that uses it quite a bit.
