It's not a board, it's an external reader.  Anyway, this computer
has the open controller and uses the 'O'HCD driver while the P3
(which works correctly) has the other type of controller and uses
the 'U'HCD driver.  

As long as the driver matches the controller why does the device
care?  I didn't see anything in the doc's about the type of
controller and of course no mention of my favorite OS.
