I was unaware of Don's limited mobility.... sorry.

The Antec PSU tester that started this thread provides a static, stable
load for testing purposes.

and way cheaper than motherboards and hard drives that will simply give
you a pass ("It works!") or fail ("I smell
something...") result. :-D
