If you mean that fans considered "Tiberius" to be Kirk's middle name long 
before it was said to be in ST6:TUC...
AFAIK, the origin of this belief was ... [drum roll] ... the novelisation of 
ST:TMP - by Gene Roddenberry - in *1988*.
