MH> A cell is a pair of character and attribute values. Although the Vio MH> subsystem supports 4-byte cells, I don't know of a display card that MH> actually has them instead of the standard 2-byte cells that have been MH> around since the ages of the CGA display card. I believe that the 4-byte format is only really of any importance when you start mucking around with AVIO presentation spaces. I doubt that it is much used even then, since firstly AVIO is only commonly used to emulate a VGA text-mode session in Presentation Manager, which only requires the 2-byte format; and secondly AVIO is 16-bit and is probably better replaced by a proper 32-bit custom window class _anyway_. ¯ JdeBP ® --- FleetStreet 1.16 NR* Origin: JdeBP's point, using Squish (2:440/4.3) SEEN-BY: 50/99 54/99 270/101 620/243 625/160 711/401 413 430 934 712/311 407 SEEN-BY: 712/505 506 517 623 624 704 713/317 800/1 @PATH: 440/4 141/209 270/101 712/624 711/934 |
