All flights out of Iraq for troops at the end of their deployment have been canceled.

U.S. military commanders in Iraq are developing plans to move up to 5,000
troops with armored vehicles and tanks into Baghdad in an effort to stop
the violence.

Officials say that means about 35,000 troops who were scheduled to leave
Iraq will serve up to four more months.

America now has about 130,000 troops in Iraq, with 30,000 in Baghdad.
