MM> Anyone ibterested in photos of CSX Police MARKED police vehicles
MM> better be quick. Although emergency equipment such as lights and

MM> identification markers are now in process of being removed from
MM> many of these vehicles as fast as the 1800 nimber fot yje PCC
MM> center is for reportinh emergencies to railroad.
Please tell us non-law enforcement types what a "federal star"
is. Surely it would be a surprise to Texas (the Lone Star state) and
Minnesota (the North Star state) to learn that the star is now
exclusively federal; many other states also include the star in their
emblems, logos, etc.
As far as law enforcement goes, the star has always been
associated with peace officers at all levels, and particularly with
sheriffs and deputy sheriffs. Is there some restriction now on them,
or any other peace officers, using stars because they are not federal
officers?
Also, it would be interesting to know why CSX marked police
vehicles are being changed to unmarked.
MM> Special Agents have federal+ authority with basically the same
MM> arrest powers of any peacer officer in his jurisdiction in any
MM> jurisdiction that the railrod has a business interest in.
If this statement is literally true, it appears to say a
railroad special agent could arrest someone for spitting on the
sidewalk under a local ordinance far from the railroad, as long as it
was in a jurisdiction the railroad has a business interest in
