| subject: | Re: The UN worked |
From: Randall Parker I was arguing with Gene about his own contention that Saddam didn't obstruct the UNSCOM inspectors. Gullible about what exactly? I'm very pleased that a guy who used to escort his sons when they were still children to visit torture chambers to watch real live torturings is overthrown. I think that is great. I think it is great that people are no longer being fed into meat grinders too. As for deliverably weapons of mass destruction: So if he had abandoned working on them would you prefer that the meat grinders had continued operating? Also, would you have preferred instead of invading the place that in order to hobble his attempts to do WMD development that the US had continued to enforce a sanctions regime that wasn't hurting Saddam personally because Saddam chose to beggar the masses and deny them drugs nnd clean water instead? You preferred the high infant mortality rate and the meat grinders and the oppressive regime to a US invasion?
