subject: [OS2HW] IDEconnectionNOT!

Hi,

Firstly let me thank all those suggestions from all of you. They were all
very helpful, but did not resolve the problem.

Happy I am, but red-faced too, that the problem was so obvious as to be
embarrassing. It all boiled down to a flakey SCSI setup, adaptec 2940uw
bios 2.20. Since all the components had co-existed peacebly before the
troubles, it just never occurred to me that it could be the scsi.

If and when I got anything to boot with an anaytical disk, the reports were
very discouraging and one would think that both IDE drives had become
infected or corrupt in some way.

Anyway with the scsi disconnected , bootup was smooth, and an anaylsis of
the drives, showed no errors.

So friends I live and learn, tomorrow I'll try to determine if it's the
scsi drive or the card.

Thanks once again.

KevinJ.
