Agreed.  I guess the only real reason there's a general release of a beta is
because the public demanded it of the author. . .

So let THEM have it, I say.

I think the better way is when the author has a small trusted cadre of beta
testers, who understand the responsibilities of a beta test cycle! :)

It's not appropriate to dump betas on unsuspecting/unqualified l-users! :P
