Right,  more not so with magnetic,  where the response is decidedly tilted.
 But as I say,  the preamp usually takes care of this.

No,  that's correct.  What I have here is a _ceramic_ cartridge.  High
impedance,  but a basically flat output.

That too.  The receiver I have here is set up for a magnetic cartridge.

Heh.

Actually to my left is the smaller part of this L-shaped desk,  on which
sits, among much other junk,  the test fixture.  And a little mono vga
monitor.  I could move that out of there,  and have all that space...   :-)

Where to put it in here isn't anywhere near as much of a problem as the
"thundering herd" downstairs,  also known as preschool twin boys.
