From: Randall Parker I second George Sherwood's comments. Also, you seem to be missing the point on why we treat the Gitmo prisoners as we do: We don't want to be killed by terrorists. The international law crowd have nothing to offer us for our own safety. Keeping terrorists isolated and interrogating them for useful information both serve to make us more secure. I think the law should protect us. I do not support treaties and dubious interpretations of international law that make us less secure. Also, what is the point of setting an example that will not be followed in any way that redounds to our benefit? I don't see the example that you would have us make as being morally better than what we are currently doing.
