Hi Paul,
         I'm finally rooted! Telemate is not case sensitive. It
doesn't know shit between A and a.

  I thought I'd use a mixture of a string to read the ^{at} 00 substitute
and a file to read the rest, and that works like a charm... but bloody
Telemate is case-insenstitive in reading a file, too! I'm rooted.
There is no way around it.

  My final hope is to write the freq program in BASIC (or whatever), 
and call it from within Telemate to PUT the file. In fact, I am rather
looking forward to it.

  What do you think of Pascal? I always found that easier to use than
Basic.
