My comment re Windows 3.1 drivers, was that the new printers are no
longer supplied with them. As you say, if you are lucky, you may be able
to find drivers from an old model that at least support the basic
functions of the printer (perhaps not photo quality colour printing from
within Win-OS2 for example).
You'll need input from other Canon printer owners, to suggest which ones
may be compatible.
