While tripping merrily through the mail, Jack Smith was overheard
JS> I can't really tell whether it's pale or dark. It just looks pink to
JS> me, not really light nor dark. Problem is, I have nothing to compare
 JS> it with.
When I have something like that, unless there's a drastic difference in
value, warranting additional research, I generally assume I have the more
common one.
JS> I wonder if you'd have a handle on the value of these two Beach Boys
 JS> LPs?
Sure. Prices are "Retail" (what you'd expect to PAY at a dealer), the
range is VG+ to NM.
"All Summer Long" Capitol T 2110

     Cover lists last song as "Don't Break Down" $ 15 - $ 40
     Cover lists last song as "Don't Back Down" $ 10 - $ 30
     "The Beach Boys Today" Capitol T 2269 $ 15 - $ 35
JS> I heard that these could be worth hundreds but I don't really know.
 JS> Both are probably VG.
Not hundreds I'm afraid. These values BTW are pretty average for most
rock albums of the early to mid 60's
The "rarest" Beach Boys albums are "Smiley Smile" on Capitol (the version
on "Brother" is common) and "Stack O' Tracks", especially the Record Club
issue (if you have the songbook that came with it).
DD> ... When I was your age, we carved transistors out of wood.
 JS> Don, you'd have to be about 90. :-)
Not quite (although some mornings I feel it.)
I'll give you a hint. "All Summer Long" was probably playing on the
radio as I drove my date to our High School Junior Prom. :-)
Don
... Take my hand, I'm a stranger in Fidoland
