PE>> Because MNP5 is too brain-dead not to know when it is sending a PE>> compressed file, so it is slower than MNP4, that's why! RS> 'dont do as I do, do as I say' (c) BG 93 PE> I can't selectively switch off MNP5 myself. Not sure what you mean there. If you are forcing MNP, you certainly can switch off MNP5 alone and leave MNP4. Presumably you mean you cant turn MNP5 off and leave V42bis only on. PE> And even if I could, I'd probably leave it to the caller to decide on PE> that too. Sure, I think it is the best way. I was just making a snide crack that a few days ago you had turned V42bis and V42 (LAPM) off and had left MNP4 and MNP5 on. Either that or the negotiation got even more confused than it normally does and that happened without any specific config action by you at all. That was the am after you suggested some specific tests for the handshaking problem to me, so I assumed you had tried forcing that yourself in your modem. Maybe it was just a coincidence. --- PQWK200* Origin: afswlw rjfilepwq (3:711/934.2) SEEN-BY: 711/934 @PATH: 711/934 |
