What I really like moving from the 486 to newer BIOS on the
Pentium box is you can select which IRQ's will initiate 
wakeup :-)
I suspect transiant damage from constant turning them on and off
may well lead to shorter life than leaving them on.
Gotta thinkk about a UPS though.
