This book covers the Control Program API (DosXXXX functions) and acts

as both a reference guide and a programming guide.  It is clearer and

more consice than IBM's documentation, though it does not cover the

debugging and IO control functions (it refers you to IBM's

documentation for these).  Though it gives the C prototypes, it

attempts to be language independent and gives the DLL and ordinal for

each function in addition to the INCL_ symbol you must define in C. 

This is a good book for programmers new to OS/2 and have never dealt

with interprocess communication or extended attributes before.  It

covers pipes in much greater depth than IBM's reference guide.  It also

covers the undocumented DosSelToFlat() and DosFlatToSel() functions.
