ND> Hello Scott! your message on 12-06-96 about LINE CONNECTORS
-> Nope... All supra 28.8s have their phone connectors wired in
-> parallel (So the relay doesn't turn the line out jack off). Why?

I cut the connector off one of these teleprotectors and spliced it into
my main phone line. My phone wiring is like a "Y", with the modem on one
side and the rest of the house on the other. When the modem is in use,
the rest of the house is cut off. This not only prevents a telephone
from interrupting your modem session, it also gives the modem line more
signal strength. It eliminates the voltage drops from your other ringers.
I orignally came up with this idea when I was using a Practical Peripherals
PM14400FXSA modem which couldn't sense "RING" and "BUSY" because the line
levels were too low.
