Hello Paul!

On 01 May 94, you said to Geoff Armstrong:

GA>> Every so often, it hangs up the modem as soon as your end
GA>> answers. Then your BBS is busy for about two minutes. When BT
GA>> redials after your line becomes free again, it'll hang up on
GA>> answer again.

GA>> I'm using exactly the same modem strings in BT and FD, but FD
GA>> doesn't do this. It's pissing me off. Any ideas?

PE> I did notice a lot of mail calls from you. However, they were
PE> successful. I didn't have any mail for you, and you didn't have any
PE> mail for me, so after the FTS negotiation it hung up. What would you
PE> like it to do? BFN.

Those calls were successful, I agree. I did make a lot of calls that had no
mail to send either way, so after the FTS negot they hung up. No problem,
just as you expect.

It was the other calls that apparently didn't make it as far as your caller
log that were the problem. The modem hung up before the
eeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEXXXXXXXXXXxxxxxxxxx modem locking/training tones were
recieved (ie immediately after answer, and before the modems got to even
say hello to each other).

Bbbrrrrrr Bbbbbbrrrrr ... Bbbrrrrrrr Bbbrrrrrrr pip pip pip
pip pip pip pip

Sea Ewes are round!
Geoff.
