Hi All!
For Christmas, my wife bought me a Radio Shack "super accurate auto-set
digital clock" (cat. # 63-970) that sets itself to the NIST time broadcasts.
I was wondering what frequency it actually uses. I know WWV broadcasts on 5,
10, 15, and 20 MHz, and WWVB transmits on 60 KHz. Judging from the fact that
it uses a ferrite rod antenna, and that reception is better at night, night,
and that, as far as I know WWV doesn't transmit any type of "packet,"
"telemetry" or "compuerter data" on their signals, I believe it is actually
picking up WWVB. The owners manual says "WWV," but it doesn't make any
mention of frequency.
Any info you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
