HELP!!!!
I am using the P-SCREEN library and screen editor program, and love it.
Yet, it seems REALLY old, and the guy who wrote it lists an address
which I cannot tell is valid or not.
Question: I wish to register P-SCREEN, but can someone tell me what
the latest version is so I can FREQ it (or FTP, etc.) and
also maybe verify the address is correct before I lose my $$
sent to someone who's no longer in the biz, accordingly.
TIPS TO USERS WHO WANT 80x25 SCREENS HARDCODED, EASILY CALLED IN SOURCE:
BTW, for those who use P-SCREEN, this is what I do to internalize
my screens, embedded right into the source, JUST THIS EASY:
STEP 1: Using TDraw, I create a screen, save it as FILENAME.BSV
2: I load FILENAME.BSV into P-SCREEN.EXE, save as FILENAME.ASM
3: I run "a86 filename.asm filename.obj"
4: In my source: $link "filename.obj"
(and also the P-SCREEN files, as well as the usual initialize stuff as
per the docs, etc., linked and included as per the docs)
Then, to call the screen in the code: call (filename)
It's so EASY, it's stupid not to do this when all ya need is one quick
command to load a fast, full 80x25 screen. It's LIGHTNING fast, too,
especially under PB 3.2. I mean FAST. Scary!!!
Also, your screen is in an .OBJ file, and does not mess up your
source when editing, and you can do this for as many screens as
your memory can hold, about 4k each. And don't forget: FAST!
I love this method so much, I can barely wait to register P-SCREEN so
I can make the initialize/unregistered screen go away, and also utilize
the fade and other features of the P-SCREEN libraries which exist
in this excellent utility.
Take care,
