They call it a mosque because that's it's main purpose. They threw in the
"community center" idea when they found that there was so much
opposition to a mosque so close to Ground Zero.

Since there is no Muslim community in the area, they will have to bus them
in from The Bronx and Queens. As for "intra-faith and community
outreach" they haven't exactly been forthcoming on how they plan to
accomplish that by building their mosque overlooking Ground Zero.

The developer has agreed to look at property farther away from Ground Zero
to help build those bridges they claim they want built with the rest of the
community.
