I don't know about Texas, there are problably more birds confiscated over
there due to the mexican border. I'm sure that a lot of parrots and finches
such as buntings get confiscated anually. A lot more than here in Miami. But
like I said, its very easy for the quarantine employe to sell on the side
lets say 8 birds at $50 each. I have no hard facts but its just one of those
things that are obvious. By the way, do finches get banded over there before
being sold to the public? And what do you do with migratory birds such as the
Indigo, Lazuli, and Varied Buntings? Do they get released? ...wich they
should, or do they get sold. Here no domestic or migratory bird besides
common doves, blackbirds, starlings, and sparrows can be kept as pets. I
think...
