I am in Ontario. They say that you shouldn't plant until the Victoria Day
weekend (May 19th, this year), but we can still get night frosts and temps in
the low 20's celcius, don't know what that is in F. If I wait until then,
though, I don't get any peas! And I do love peas! I haven't gotten any into
the house the past few years, because I eat them all in the garden! :) Oh
well, I've just got to learn to plant more!

I love herbs! I've got old roses, thyme, mint, lemon balm, wild
strawberries, cilantro, basils, sage, comfrey, and a bunch more. Of course,
some are still waiting to be put into the garden this spring, and some are
inside, and some come back every year. My herbs are in no way formal. They're
planted where they'll do well, be it the flower garden or the vegetable
garden, or the hill we can't mow. They pretty much grow anywhere. The less
you fuss over them (for the most part) the better they do!
Your Bay should grow well in a container. Unfortunately, I can't give you
any tips on growing them. I kill them, along with rosemary (I killed another
one, if you're reading Kat). At least I have something to strive for!
