nd
EG>family, down there near Shreveport. What's the weather like now?
Hi Ed,
Everything here in Shreveport is great...Husband is a very special guy,
as he knows about my PPS and doesn't mind at all....He's very good to
me, as well as for me...I just sold my house in Tx. today so it was a
little sad for me....A ending to one life, but a beginning for
another....The weather is wonderful, just waiting for them to get the
pool open....HAHAHA I need the excersize.....
EG> AC> 260lbs, I guess they realized that I couldn't push him around. Then
whe
EG> AC> they learned I had PPS, they gave in with no fight...
EG>get a scooter since I can walk (at all.) Granted, ignorance of my
EG>disability, by persons not afflicted, is something I have to learn,
I know the feeling well, it took my 2 years to get my SS, PPS wasn't
enough I had to have a Heart attack on top of it...
EG> take into consideration. However, I blow a fuse when some moron with
EG>no knowledge of PPS tells me, unequivocally, what my capabilities are
EG>or should be. Would you believe this women told me that my HMO had a
EG>list of specific diseases for which the patients afflicted with same
EG>may qualify to get a scooter. Not a list of disabilities with
ualifying
EG>degrees of severity, but a list of diseases. Guess which disease wasn't
EG>on the list? And I'll bet they treated my case as an exception to the
EG>rule rather than add PPS to the list. Enough about that.
It would be nice if they would put PPS on the list before we are all
gone....sometimes I think that, that is what they are waiting for...
EG>EG>suggestions?
EG> AC> I can't help with the problem. I had the lift put in the trunk of a
big
EG> AC> car...It worked great, I had a little trouble manuvering it because I
EG> AC> was so small...
EG>I wish I could do that also, but even big cars are difficult for me to
EG>enter and exit. I'm about 6'3" and unfortunately currently 290 pounds.
EG>I have to bend my legs, stoop, and twist myself around, all
EG>simultaneously in order to get in and out of cars. My much higher
EG>pick-up truck is much easier for me to use. I'll eventually have to get
EG>another one or van since this one is so old.
Can understand that, my new husband is just about the same as you in
height and weight....
EG>Seems as if I've been on some sort of emotional roller coaster since
y
EG>mom died in March. Most of what transpired regarding the scooter
EG>happened back in January and February and since then I've been pretty
uch
EG>involved with my mom's illness and subsequent passing. When the
EG>scooter dealer called to say that he had received authorization for my
EG>scooter, it was a breath of fresh air in the middle of an emotional fire
EG>storm. Having no way to transport it makes it a hollow victory at this
EG>point, but I'm working on it. Thanks for the hugs and the caring, it's
EG>GREAT! Hopefully, hubby doesn't mind you sharing the hugs and my
EG>returning them so vigorously. Take care.
I'm sorry to hear about your Mother...Extending hand------ here's a rose
for you.--------%---@ and a hug. And you don't have to be worried about
Jerry, He's one in a million.....{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}
