My envy grows! Lots of action around here with the Summit of 8. Late this AM,
I was out to BJC to see if there was anything new on the ground in connection
with the summit and noted some OD painted blackhawk helicopters in front of
the terminal where there is seldom anything so I went over to see what was
going on. There were three Cessna Citation jets, only one with "US CUSTOMS
SERVICE" painted on it but all three with the same special radar nose and the
IR ball on the belly som there was nos disguise what they were. Lots of
people running around with US Customs uniforms wearing flak jackets and
carrying side arms. Some of them got into one of the US Army Blackhawks and
took off with what appeared to be four passengers with M-16s. Then the one
identified Citation jet took off. I jotted down the "N" numbers of the jets
and then left after having some vapor lock problems with my car. About an
hour later, I was sitting at my desk trying to get my scanner going when
there was a loud knock on the door. Two detectives from the Denver PD who
said they were working for the Secret Service and wanted to ask me some
questions! I admitted my terrible crime of making notes at the airport and
even made them a photcopy of my notes. After about a half hour, they
departed, seemingly satisfied that I was simply an old aeronautical fool.
Incidently, the PB4-Y has returned to BJC, probably for the summer forest
fire fighting season. My PD chief was unhappy that they sent Denver cops who
probably have no jurisdiction here when he would have told them to back off.
Just some more of Klinton's paranoia.
