The 4 ohm speakers have a smaller impedence then the 8 ohm ones, that means
the current (I) will be higher with the 4 ohm speakers then with the 8 ohm
ones.
The result will be louder sound with the 4 ohm speakers when the volume
control is on X position.
As for damage . . . .
I cant tell U the there wont be, but It Can (Not for sure) butn out both
The reciever and the speakers, coz when the current is higher the heat of
the electric components will rise, if they will not be able to dispose of
all of it they will burn out.
