RS> Whats with the couple of private flagged messages to me which popped RS> up in LocSysop from people outside TML ? Presumably they were RS> actually netmails ? PE> You've been playing with your control.dat, haven't you? Nope, did it initially, never touched it since. The whole question of netmail was a bit less than clear, its quite different to the other areas, so presumably it just got done wrong. PE> Are you making sure NETMAIL is the first area? No, thats presumably the problem. Whats the logic there ? Presumably the PKT doesnt have a proper AREA: for netmail and so it just tosses it into the first area in the CONTROL.DAT and doesnt even bother to look at the name of it ? A more elegant solution would be to treat that as just a bit more of a special case, when no AREA:, assume it must be netmail, so look for the NETMAIL area in the CONTROL.DAT, instead of just dumping it in the first one regardless of its name. PE> There were no private messages of yours go into LOCSYSOP, although you PE> did receive 2 netmails today. If you are keeping your inbound mail, PE> you will be able to verify this with INSPECT. Yeah, thats clearly whats happening, no AREA: on those two. RS> Whats the story about replying, and for that matter where are RS> netmails in general up to now ? Not that I want to reply to either RS> or send any netmail any time soon. Just wondering. PE> So long as netmail is your first area and is called NETMAIL, you just PE> reply as usual with the "To: whatever" like you used to do with PE> Maximus. There is code in QWK2PKT that converts it into netmail. OK, I will have a fiddle. I also noticed a single message in one area which wasnt to me which did have a PVT flag in that bundle too. Havent noticed one before at all. --- PQWK200* Origin: afswlw rjfilepwq (3:711/934.2) SEEN-BY: 711/934 @PATH: 711/934 |
