Well I'm down to CJ, Straw and Coffee.. I stopped dealing with that
SAddlebred owner since he wanted to do things the old way.. I also gave up
riding that TB mare.. since she had no business being used as a school horse.
I convinced the gal that's funding the school to send her home (she was
leased)
> Also been trying to get Fid and Shiloh out for an occasional ride on
> @eekends...
Well I'm back riding CJ although she's lame again.. we're doing very light
rides walk only. Straw just got "Adjusted" so it's a slow work up..
Coffee and I hit an impass.. he's a dominent horse since he's used to
passengers.. I can't change him that much since the owner likes him a
certain way.. so I kinda stopped riding him for a bit after he caused a wreck
in the river with Tush..
For days I had was working her into the river on the bank.. and two weeks ago
I was taking them down the side for the last time becuase I'd planned to take
them into the river the next day.. now the side is cement.. and underwater
(about 3-4 inches). I walked them both down to where the water goes back into
the river part.. and went to pivit coffee to turn around safely.. he decied
to step up into the slanted side of the river (also cement) and when I went
to back him off.. he nudged Tush and she slipped and fell.. Hed to get off to
get her up.. and since there was no way to get back on I had to walk them
back through the river (on the bank) to get them back.. I was soaked. Tush
was so P-O'ed at Coffee she tried to nail him several times.. I kept her out
of the way after she connected the first time.
Coffee was a tad lame.. for a bit after.. I was worried about Tush since the
LA river is nasty and she has a lousey immunity system.. I gave her a
Betdine bath when we got back.. She blew up like ballon for two days.. and
then came back to normal after a good furincine sweat. She's pretty much
over it and the Boo-boo's are just about healed.. I've already walked her
back down to the river.. but not in it while she had open wounds.
I've just put them back together again.. and I'm easing them back onto the
trail..

Well Straw is coming along.. we may show him next year.. Coffee is Coffee..
and CJ is CJ.. Tush I still do as much as possible with.. today I was
working on the small turn out and I had her in there with me to help.. ;)
I'm having some major problems with the looney lady.. you know the one that
got kicked by the stud.. We'll see where we're headed with this one.. sigh
