The lines are really getting blurry now, many "foreign" cars are manufactured in plants located in the US, many "American" cars use parts from foreign plants. I do think that way back when that foreign cars had higher reliability and may still to a degree, but I also recall the higher cost of repair and parts that probably negated a large part of the longer period between repairs (though not the inconvenience of earlier repairs for the US cars if that is actually the case). That said, last time I checked the Saturn brand enjoyed a competitive resale value. Still, buying new cars is always a losing proposition, if the resale value is a driving factor, then buying a 1-2 year old car is a far smarter strategy as the lion's share of the annual decline in value occurs as the rear bumper of your new car clears the dealer's lot. --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
