August,

I hope that works for Alans Friend.

I had troubles using Safe Mode in XP MCE, with or without "with
Networking" selected in either of the two accounts I could choose from,
both accounts are Admin Accounts.

McAfee would tell me my computer was "At Risk" in Safe Mode if I let it
set idle at the Desktop for a few minutes.

If I let XP start up normally and used any of my accounts McAfee didn't
give me that warning message.

I even tried starting Safe Mode with the DSL Modem and/or Router turned
OFF and still got that warning message that my computer was AT RISK.

I hope my problem was something like a file that McAfee needs was passed
over when Safe Mode started up.

I thought Save Mode was a "Cure All", now I'm not so sure.
