MARIE WEIDEMANN was thinking about Re: That Kelley person... and keyed
into cyberspace:
MW> MW> MP> Agreed that she is not stupid. What she spouts is dangerous,
MW> MW> MP> and made more dangerous because she cloaks herself in the
MW> MW> MP> aura of a medical professional and sounds like she knows
MW> MW> MP> what she is talking about. Herbs have nothing to do with
MW> MW> MP> ADHD.
MW> MW> I understand exactlly what you are saying. I have been in the

MW> MW>would never profess to know everything about anything...Whatever
MW> MW>information I get, I share it with others and let them make
MW> MW>their own decisions.
MW> MP> I share information, too. There is a load of very good stuff on
MW> MP> the WWW. One of them is the entire report from Ken BLum about
MW> MP> the genetic basis for ADHD. It contains an excellent
MW> MP> explanation of the reason why ADHD seems to be co-morbid with
MW> MP> many things.
MW> Thank you. I will check out this site...I have never been diagnosed
MW>as having AD(H)D, but in learning about the symptoms my
MW>grandchildren have, I realize I have, or did have, some of them...as
MW>do a few of my children.
That is so common these days. The recent paper by Safer from Johns
Hopkins shows that there has been a doubling of the use of
methylphenidate in the past five years. During those years there was a
realization that ADHD pursues one into adulthood and that there are
treatments for it.
If you want to browse the article by Blum, look for American Scientist,
March/April 1996. That should allow you to home in on it.
MW> MP> Holiday dinners at your place must make the local news. My
MW> MP> family is so small that for my son's Bat Mitzvah in September,
MW> MP> we rented the coat room at a local restaurant. Had room to
MW> MP> spare.
MW> LOL.....I am sure the pride in your son could have filled any ball
MW>stadium. That is the most important part of a Bar Mitzvah...your son
MW> is now a man. The family is proud no matter what....And I don't
MW>always have everyone over at the same time anymore. Some live other
MW>places...but we talk on the phone. Wish your son a late Mazel Tov
MW>from me....
He does many things that make us proud. And he is a superior big
brother. His little bother (I have two) has cerebral palsy and Josh
helps us with him so much. Josh read to him (it is the only time Josh
ever picked up a book, other than to hide it) when he was little, and
Noah is now an avid reader. Josh hates it.
