-> I have still not figured out how they justify those re-broadcasts.
-> Something to do with the peoples' right to know? The re-broadcasts
-> that really tear me up are the calls to 911. I keep wondering if
-> they are necessary, and why they aren't on the no-no list. Of
-> course, they aren't on scanners, but......

911 calls are taped and have to be kept for a certain amount of time,
depending on the jurisdiction. One state, went to court to keep 911
taped calls the property of the local jurisdiction, but got sent back
because of the "public interest."
I love that person (haven't been paying attention to the names of
writers here) who won't understand that it is a federal offense to
listen to ANY phone calls. I guess he will never believe anyone. I'm
getting kind of tired of it.
I am a police officer and just recently worked on a group 2 undercover
operation with the FBI on cable signal theft, which led us to phone
cloners, which led to money laundering, which led to a bank being taken
down in the Caymen Islands, which led to search warrants across the
country in march "95, which led to arrests in march of this year, etc.
 ect......
I learned quite a lot very quickly with no previous undercover
experience. The feds do not bother with the small fries, they take on
the big ones, and when they do, they never let go!
Can't say anymore because we have yet to go to trial in Federal court
here. I would sure like to write a book about it though.
