Could it be the same cause as with Windows 3.1? With
Windows 3.1, a program would take up resources when started, but
not release all of them when closed. This was hell with 8 megs
and trying to use MS-Word with OLE links from MS-Excel: it crashed
my machine for at least a week, until I figured out the problem and
how to fix it. This occured when I was nearing the deadline for
my thesis, so there was quite an amount of stress involved, as well
as a lot of swearing. However, this sort of turned out to be a
good thing since it made me so angry at Microsoft that I bought
OS/2 and discovered what made a good OS.
