| subject: | [OS2HW] Re: Should I Buy a Digital Camera? |
The belgian Warp site is probably the best source of information.
I have a HAMA card reader (6 in 1?) and it works fine with the CF card my
Nikon uses.
Last year I bought a Nikon Coolpix 4300 camera, it was a special at the
local photo dealer. It works perfectly with my USB connection, it is
amazing when you can see the camera memory as a DOS file system.
I also got a real cheap "mini digital camera" (plain no-name), also with a
USB connection, plus a CD containing some windows software (which I so far
completely ignored), but this thingy does not work like the other "real"
camera. Maybe it needs a special tool to read its memory. Since it was a
give-away and I don't really need it, I have not studied the problem in
more detail so far. If others have a similar camera, it would be great to
learn how they solved
the problem.
