The other way around! When the software/hardware was OLDER than the OS,
the OS will likely include the drivers. Where you run into problems is
installing NEW stuff on an OLD OS. They would almost never backtrack and
add drivers for newer stuff, then you have to hit the manufacturer's web
sites.
