We generally don't get to hear/see to much of the pricing during the sales.
Most of the time during the sales we're out in the yard setting up for
upcoming sales (that would be during the Daimler-Chrysler and the GM
factory sales). During the regular sale on Tuesday some of us are driving,
others are slotting cars as they come in for the sale (even after it has
started!) and others (and I now seem to be one them) are on traffic duty.
The only pricing info we hear is whatever we might get to observe during
breaks (if we get any ). And even then, you really have to pay
close attention in
order to understand the auctioneer ....I'm finally getting to
where I can follow it reasonably well. In the last GM factory sale I *did*
see a full-size passenger van (Vandura type) go through....they started the
bidding at ~ $17K.....when they hit 25K the auctioneer commented that maybe
they had started too low (you think? )....and I think it sold for
about $28K.
If you're driving a sale, you're typically listening to the bidding on the
car that just left from in front of you - and you're too busy watching the
floor crew for the cue to 'roll' to pay much attention to what you're
hearing.
Unfortunately you have be a dealer registered with them to be able to find
out anything much :-((
