The one stuck is Charles.

His mother swore an auth to serve for "life".  I would interpret
that as "working life", but she doesn't.  If her mother is any
guide, she'll be around for another three decades.  After all, the Royals
get decent medical care.  She may outlive her son.

Whatever - Charles wants to allow William as long a "free" life
as possible.  In a sense he's protecting him from the constant attention
the monarch gets in the goldfish bowl.  Don't expect either the Queen or
Charles to lay down the job early.
