They did not put a cat in a box EVER, and there is no evidence to support the
bifurcating universe theory. Quantum mechanics (QM) is a very complex subject
and you make it quite clear with your above statements that you don't have
the first clue about it.
The cat in the box _idea_ is an explanation of probability and Heisenberg's
Uncertainty Principle.
