I had originally carved a brass nut for mine years ago during a drunkin 
weekend, and it turned out quite well. I actually got a good ten years of 
mileage on it, and then decided a bone one was more in order.
So a couple months ago I had a very good tech by the name of Tom Keckler of 
Strings and Things Custom shop carve a new one..
Made a world of difference..
BTW, my Paul is a cherry sunburst.
I really like the tobbaco subnursts on the Standards though...
Would love to get a 3 pickup black Custom.. That's the next toy on the list 
!!
