Hmm .... have a look at the CD's I sent you, you will find ecasound there, a 
good place to start, me thinks ...

Have a look at that 8.1 CD, most recent distro's I have had a look at will 
allow you to boot from a WIN98 boot disk, chage to the dosutils directory and 
run an "autoboot" or "boot" batch file and load /start
Linux via loadlin and 
setup from there, might be an option for you. Am waiting for Slackware 9.0 to 
come out and will get a CD to play with, will also post you a copy. :-)
