Answering my own mail here...with "much egg on face".  Dumb...Dumb...Dumb!!

I learned.... When you get to the "add font" window, you just give it the 
directory of the fonts you want to install....NOT the path/directory and font
name.

Is it age, or is it the ten thousand things you have to keep in recallable
memory these days!
